Encyclopedia of science
If all written records were being destroyed, wouldn't you want an individual to remember the basics of science to be able to rebuild and advance? I personally think it would be valuable to have something potent like a science encyclopedia in a mental arsenal to use after a dystopian rage had died down. Human beings would have beaten themselves back to the stone age if no one remembered how electricity, radio, and rocketry worked. Man would have to learn to recreate even the simplest machines like the printing press. Cave men and fire right? Three millennium of experimenting and exploring lost to a decade of destruction and hate.
